Sorry, y'all for the lack of posting ... in the meantime, here are some pics of the lovely pair whose wedding made for a fun celebration this weekend.
More pictures (many of which are, sadly blurred because I thought the natural light would be enough) here:

Sorry, internet
Life lately has left me too wiped out to post on this thing for a few weeks now. But there is good news: I didn't work 15 hours today! So, things are already improving from yesterday and the day before. And we've signed a contract for our bartender, which, YAY, BOOZE.
Still to come: we need a tent. And some tables and chairs. Those are probably the next to get hammered down.
Oh, yeah, I'm still looking for a dress, too. Here's a possibility. I think I might make another internet-y purchase. Here's hoping this one works out better than the last.

Signing on
Well, we finally -- yay!! -- made our photographer official. So, without any further ado, I present to you Kim, aka Picture the Sound. She is such a talented and sweet person, and I am so excited that this worked out.

Over-exposed
Well, I tried on the pink dress yesterday and ... it's a no-go, I'm afraid. No one needs to see that much of my side-boob, like, ever. And the color wasn't quite right, either. I thought it would be a warm, peachy-pink color, but it had more of a violet undertone, which did not look all that great on me. :( So, back to the drawing board on that one. (Now that you've seen what I'm interested in, if anyone sees anything that might be decent, please, please let me know.)
Ugh, and the stress over the whole dress fiasco led to me having another wedding day nightmare last night. As with, well all of 'em, it had to do with not being properly prepared for the big day. In this case, it was the day before our wedding, and we had been planning on holding it at an amusement park, like, right in front of the Demon Drop or something, when I had a moment of clarity and realized that it was a.) really shitty to ask our friends and family to pay for the entrance to such a costly place and b.) really lacking of the proper facilities (i.e. seats and such) for a wedding ceremony and reception. And then I remembered that we'd totally forgotten to send out invites.
Shit, shit, shit.
And then while relating that story to Lyndsey this afternoon at work, I realized that I'd for real forgotten to sign our contract with the photographer, as Kyle had asked me to this morning.
Shit, shit, shit.

They take the cake
So, one of the crafty bits I've been most excited to take on is the construction of a wedding topper. One of my favorites -- and, somewhat surprisingly, Kyle's -- are these Patch NYC toppers. They are, of course, totally out of my price range at $500, but I think I can do something similar to them out of pipe cleaners. Looks like I'm not alone in that thought.
So, yeah, I think I'm going to pursuing creating something out of pipe cleaners or wooden clothespins -- I'm still trying to decide. I've found these and these to be particularly inspiring (and more reflective of our short 'n' chubby body types than the willowy ones from Patch NYC), so I might have to do some experimenting.
Oh, but get this: during my hunting, I found these. Whoa. Give the groom brown hair and a beard, and this could be Kyle and I. ;)
Not quite picture-perfect
Well, my mom and I made it down to North Bank Park Saturday to snap some shots of the site. I got some decent photos, but man, the weather sucked -- it was cold and damp and gray, oh my.
We seem to have lost the ability to upload photos from our computers here at work, so for now, those who are interested in wedding images can check out my Flickr wedding set.
Edited ... Just figured out how to post blogs via e-mail, and so I managed to sneak this shot in (additional photos on Flickr).

Heart of it all
Not the most beautifulest picture ever, but this is the basic design we're looking at for our save-the-dates. The image is from a brass pin I bought at an antiques booth at the state fair a few years back.
